Your company, and by extension, your\ncompany\u2019s culture is a living organism, and while everyone plays a role in\ndeveloping and nurturing it, it\u2019s something that starts at the top.&nbsp; Your employees will take their cues from\nyou.&nbsp; If you\u2019re prone to angry outbursts,\nthen you encourage the same behavior in your employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, if you want to encourage and slowly build a culture of\nkindness, that too, starts with you.&nbsp;\nHere are a few things you can do right now, starting today, that will\nslowly and steadily move the needle and transform your business into a kinder\nplace to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It Starts With Taking The Time<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best place to begin is to simply take the time to be\nkind.&nbsp; Pay attention.&nbsp; Sure, you\u2019re busy, and you probably wear a\nnumber of hats during the course of any given day, but it only takes a moment\nto acknowledge those around you with a smile and a nod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can take it even further by taking the time to learn\nyour employees\u2019 names and a few details about them, then be sure to call them\nby name or ask about their friends and family, or something you know to be\nimportant to that person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.successories.com\/teamwork-gifts\/1\">dozens of employees<\/a>, this is not much of a burden and again, it only takes a moment, but those small things can bring about tremendous changes in your company if applied steadily and consistently over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See Past The Task, To The Person Doing It<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, the work your people are doing for you is\nimportant.&nbsp; That\u2019s undoubtedly true.&nbsp; It\u2019s also true though, that the real, living,\nbreathing people in your office are important.&nbsp;\nIf you\u2019re a very task-oriented person, it can be easy to forget the\nneeds, desires and feelings of those who work for you.&nbsp; Ultimately, this comes down to increased\nmindfulness on your part, which your employees will echo and replicate when\nthey see you doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See The Good<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, especially when your business is going through a\nperiod of transition and uncertainty, it\u2019s easy to see the bad.&nbsp; The innumerable problems you face on a daily\nbasis and the challenges those problems bring with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s also a great deal of good about your company, and it\npays to spend time reflecting on that and acknowledging it.&nbsp; If you only focus on the negatives, then you\nwill, over time, become a more negative person and that will badly damage\nwhatever culture of kindness exists in your office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Give Each Other The Benefit Of The Doubt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone misses a deadline or makes a mistake now and\nagain.&nbsp; While it\u2019s important to\nacknowledge mistakes when they happen and to take corrective action, it\u2019s also\nimportant to give each other the benefit of the doubt.&nbsp; That goes for you as well, by the way.&nbsp;
