Celebrating Halloween With Your Remote Employees

Halloween is fast approaching and if you’re like many managers, you want to do something special to mark the occasion.  Halloween is, after all, one of the most popular holidays in the United States, consistently ranking in the top ten as measured by number of participating households.  Although there are more popular holidays, few are as much fun!

The problem, however, is this:  Many companies still have significant percentages of their workforce operating out of their homes.  If you want to celebrate Halloween as a company, how can you do that while making it fun and engaging for your remote staff?

That’s an excellent question and exactly why we wrote this piece.  Here are some ideas you can implement to make sure your Halloween celebration is memorable for your remote employees.

Have A Virtual Watch Party

Almost everybody has a favorite Halloween movie.  One great way to celebrate the season is to take a poll in advance of the party and select the 1-2 most popular movies, then åwatch them together in either an Amazon Prime Watch Party, or on Rave, or some other app that allows shared streaming.

Of course, to enhance the experience, you should absolutely send candy gift bags to your employees to give them something to much on while you’re watching the chosen movie together.  A guaranteed fun time!

Take A Virtual Ghost Tour

If you’ve never experimented with something like this, it may seem a little strange but trust us, once you try it, you’ll be hooked!  If you’re skeptical, head to this website to take a look.  We’re pretty sure you’ll be impressed and it will be a funtastic evening for your entire staff!

Explore the Catacombs Beneath Paris

If you’re intrigued by the Ghost Tour idea but want something with a more international feel, you could always invite your staff to (virtually) explore the extensive catacombs beneath the city of Paris.

It’s genuinely spooky with an ambience that’s unlike anything you’ve ever experienced and is not to be missed.  Book your tour today right here

Try A Virtual Escape Room

If none of the ideas above are quite what you had in mind, what about a virtual escape room?  These are a lot like conventional escape rooms though they tend to be a bit more elaborate because the virtual environment gives developers more freedom in certain respects.  If you’ve ever tried a real escape room, you know how much fun they can be, and trust us, virtual rooms are even more fun!

If you’re looking for some good ones to evaluate before making a final decisions, start here.

The bottom line is, you don’t have to limit yourself to just hanging out on Zoom, or whatever virtual meeting software you can use.  There are places you can go, virtually, that will create a memorable, meaningful shared experience that your team will be talking about for weeks, if not months to come.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with spending a little time together in a virtual meeting of course, but with a little imagination, you can do so much more!
