Shabnum Boodan
Shabnum Boodan is the Director of Accounting and Human Resources at Successories, where she has worked since 2013. She runs the money and the people side of the business: accounting, payroll, benefits, compliance, and operations across several states. If it touches what the company spends or how it treats its team, it runs through her.
She has led the practical work behind that, from new payroll systems and automated processes to clearer financial reporting. She also hires, onboards, and develops the team, and she is the person who can tell you what a recognition program really costs and how to budget for one that lasts. That is what she writes about here: the money and tax side of employee gifts and recognition.
Outside of Successories, she sits on the Board of Directors for Sunflower Creative Arts, putting the same financial skill to work for a nonprofit in her community.
