August 2024 National Holidays for the Workplace

Summer heat is upon us, but the holidays still abound. Show your appreciation to the Coast Guard on August 4th. Brush your teeth every day, but especially on August 6th for Nation Fresh Breath Day. Take a break and read a book on Wednesday, August 9th to honor Book Lover's Day.

When everyone at a company has been hard at work all summer, giving everyone a nice, easy day on Aug. 15 - Relaxation Day - can be a great way to keep morale high. Some nice scented candles and other items typically associated with kicking back and relaxing can be a fun addition.

And on the last day of the month, giving employees the chance to get out of the office on Eat Outside Day can be a fun event to plan some employee gifts around.

Left Handers Unite! It's International Left Hander's Day on Sunday the 13th. Then get ready for Wednesday, August 16th for National Tell a Joke Day.

Be Kind to Humankind Week is August 23rd - 29th.

On Friday, August 26th, the United States celebrates National Women's Day of Equality which commemorates the passage of an amendment to the constitution, allowing women the right to vote.
